They say the fashion world lives in a bubble, oblivious to the ups and downs of the economy, engrossed in their own glamorous world of tailoring, draping, and setting that perfect sleeve, driven by the sheer desire to produce sartorial works of art. Yet after reviewing look after look of the Spring 2010 collections at New York Fashion Week, I've begun to wonder: do the designers have a case of the blues from the recession? Did they choose shades of baby blue, ocean blue, and aqua to reflect the mood of the times? Or maybe it was all a coincidence. Either way, I'm glad to see some baby blue back in fashion, since it seems like it was a long time coming for this color.
