Fashion is my favorite art form, and when there is an exhibit showing in the New York that combines fashion, photography, or other forms of art, it's always on my to-do list. So if you're in the city from now until 12/11, stop by the Hermes flagship on 62nd St., which is housing an exhibit.  According to nymag.com, event details are as follows:

"Saturdays Through 12/11 Check out the Gallery at Hermès's latest exhibition, Sharon Core: Early American, a collection of still-life photos inspired by the works of painter Raphaelle Pealle. The Gallery at Hermès, 691 Madison Ave., nr. 62nd St., fourth fl. (212-751-3181); M–W and F–S (10–6), Th (10–7)."

According to nymag's blog The Cut, on Friday, October 22nd,

"Thomas Pink is giving away 1,000 complimentary men's and women's dress shirts to celebrate the new USA Network series White Collar. Thomas Pink tailors and in-house style consultants will be on hand to advise shoppers, and the pop-up includes free shoe shines and complimentary coffee. The show's stars, Matt Bomer, Tim DeKay, and Tiffani Thiessen, will make an appearance on Friday. Through 10/23. Thomas Pink pop-up shirt bar, Rockefeller Center Channel Gardens, Fifth Ave., nr. 47th St. Th (10–6); F (8–6). Cast appearance, 10/23 at 9 a.m."

My journey on Fashion's Night Out was more celeb and champagne filled than I ever expected - I met Coco Rocha, Simon Doonan, Richard Chai, and even had a sighting of Manolo Blahnik himself! No Mary-Kate and Ashley for me, however, since they were rumored to be two hours late to bartend at Bergdorfs. Sorry girls, I love you, but not enough to wait in line at Bergdorfs for two hours to watch you pour me a drink. Check out the photos below which recap some highlights of my Fashion's Night Out.

At the end of this fabulous night, my only concern is, with so many distractions, was anyone even looking at the clothes (much less buying them)?

Yay! Fashion's Night Out was a blast...hope they do it again next year!

If you happen to be in NYC tomorrow, July 30th, show up in Times Square at 5:30 and you just might star in a public service announcement for Fashion's Night Out, which will air on TV, online, and even on NYC taxis. According to Style.com's blog Style File, the first 200 people to show up will also receive a free tee shirt.

For the one New Yorker who has been living in a cave for the last few months, allow me to explain. Fashion's Night Out (check out the site for more detail here) is "A Global Celebration of Fashion", which will take place on September 10th, 2009, and will involve thousands of retailers in New York who are opening their doors to the public for a shopping soireé of sorts, handing out champagne & hors d'oeuvres (perhaps), and hosting musical performances all for the sake of stimulating the economy via retail. If you are affiliated in any way with a New York retailer, there are tons of opportunities to get involved or volunteer for this glamorous way to boost the industry! And as fashion people do everything they do, they do it in style.

Last night I attended the Independent Fashion Bloggers Dress Up Soirée, and had the pleasure of meeting ever so many interesting fashion bloggers. Among those in attendance, there was Jennine Tamm (who was lovely!) of The Coveted, who is also the founder of Independent Fahsion Bloggers; there were the ladies of Sugar Rock Catwalk, the gents of Fine & Dandy, the author of Diary of a Mad Fashionista, and also the author of Swank Heights. With so many fashion bloggers out there, and just so many blogs in general, it is interesting to hear the diverse points of view that each can offer.  Check out my party pics from the IFB event below.
