There is something about those first few crisp days of fall. This October day was particularly beautiful, so my boyfriend, dog & I headed to Central Park. Even though the leaves haven't turned yet here in New York, I was inspired by the browns, tans, rusts, and warm tones associated with this time of year.

The warm tones of Autumn are so easy to blend; they really came out well in this photo taken in the sunlight.

This filson bag is a classic, and will never go out of style. And it's the perfect size to hold my magazines.

Passed this doorway on the way to the park. Loved the animal carvings. They don't make buildings like this anymore!

It's Autumn in New York. The leaves have yet to fall, but it's chilly enough for a light jacket in the morning and (finally!) boots. On those warm and sunny afternoons, however, light layers are ideal. So what did I wear on this September day near the New York Public Libary? Needless to say I am a huge proponent of high/low dressing, the contradictory elements of classy and relaxed or edgy and traditional mixed up in the same look. They always end up balancing each other out. After all, perfection is overrated.

So since I found more street style than I could fit in one post alone while in the tents, I had to add one last post for New York Fashion Week street style. Wish I was off to London to find some great British street style, but maybe next season... Anyway, for the time being, enjoy the fashionistas of NYC!

There's nothing I love more right now than off-duty model style, and she epitomizes the look.

Normally I would find it risqué to bare one's midriff, but she makes it chic and classy.

I love the way her thigh-high boots overlap the longer, sheer dress. The two pieces balance each other quite well.

Slouchy, yet tailored. And a nice mix of textures.

Love the leopard boots so much I added them to my shoe post too!

Though I can't say I've always been, lately I've been becoming more and more of a shoe girl. Although my collection is starting to outnumber the outfits in my closet with which to wear them, too many is never...well, let's just say Imelda Marcos had it coming to her.

So during New York Fashion week I made sure to take a few pics of the interesting, quirky, or just plain fabulous shoes found on the ladies in the tents. Here are a few of them below:

Lavender and grey add an element of softness to a heavy, geometric style heel

These suede boots have the perfect amount of slouch. Would be awesome with a floral print dress! Very boho luxe.

Love the pearly finish of these shoes. The platform is also that perfect height, making it easier to walk in heels while still adding a good extra inch of height.

Funky, bright, and chunky. A throwback to the disco days if I've ever seen one.

Simple wedge + 13 straps = perfect amount of drama to make the shoe interesting

Every wardrobe needs at least one leopard print item. And these shoes would be a great place to start.

This is as fashion-week as rainboots can get. I always love a style risk taker, and this woman was one of them.

Spotted some great style in the tents after the Hervé Léger show today at Bryant Park. Check out the pics!

Check out the draping detail at the front of the skirt. The way it drapes into a bow is some kind of wonderful.

Love the mirrored pailletes on her dress! So glam.

Both of these ladies look amazing! Loving the leather shorts and denim vest over the dress.

The back of this dress is stunning. And look at her shoes!

The necklace, the jacket, the bag, the shoes, all fabulous. And she had the most lovely shade of red hair which contrasted nicely with the shade of blue in the jacket.

I want her feather vest!!!

She wears vintage, and she wears it well. I am a big fan of her belted jacket.

While running in and out of the tents at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, I've been checking out the style not found on the runways, and have had some impressive sightings of those with great street style. And what are my thoughts on NYFW street style? I am loving lots of platform heels, touches of leather, key accessories, cropped harem pants with heels, and skinny pants all around. Check out the photos below!

The cut of this coat is simple and refined.

I love the way she mixes sparkle and leather. The two textures work very well together.

A floral, an animal print, and the perfect round sunglasses complete the look. Also loving the lace-up heels.
