After watching a few episodes of "The City", I became more interested in the glamorous Olivia Palermo than Whitney, i.e., main character of the show. Maybe it's because she seems to have such a fabulous life, or because she is cattier, but wait - it's because (despite her cattiness) she really does have a great sense of style. And she has been wearing many a classic color combination - black/white or black/ivory. I happen to find a good black & ivory combination (a la Chanel) extremely classy & polished, and I find myself wearing the combo again & again, tirelessly. However, one discretionary note - notice that Olivia's choice of accessories is often an accent color in brown, purple or nude, which keeps the look from coming dangerously close to dull.
Black & Ivory. It works for Olivia, and it works for me too. Want her chic, classic style? Shop some similar looks below.

Good news for Target fans - Tracy Feith will be introducing a line for GO International at Target this spring! According to WWD, “The broad collection, which features about 60 styles and 15 original prints, will bow May 17 and be available through June 27 in most Target stores nationwide and online at www.target.com/go.”
I always enjoy a good designer line at Target, because great style really should be available to all. Anya Hindmarch did a great job with a line of patent leather handbags and clutches this fall, and so did Sigerson Morrison with a line of studded, bejeweled flats and pumps. Sadly there is no Target in Manhattan, so we New Yorkers have to trek out to various burbs to snag the line…maybe I will have to take a trip this spring.
