It's Autumn in New York. The leaves have yet to fall, but it's chilly enough for a light jacket in the morning and (finally!) boots. On those warm and sunny afternoons, however, light layers are ideal. So what did I wear on this September day near the New York Public Libary? Needless to say I am a huge proponent of high/low dressing, the contradictory elements of classy and relaxed or edgy and traditional mixed up in the same look. They always end up balancing each other out. After all, perfection is overrated.

Balmain Spring 2010 - looking very warrior-chic

Folksy fringe boots at Spring 2010 Isabel Marant
Brown paper bag waists at Fendi - maybe this will go with your bag lunch, recessionistas.

Rag & Bone -This is either safari in heels, or the chicest boot camp garb ever.

So by now anybody and everybody in the fahion world has heard about the disappointing reviews of the Spring 2010 Ungaro show...especially since the design house appointed Lindsay Lohan as artistic advisor.
The show only left me asking one thing: What do hot pinks and oranges, bandeau tops, white fur stoles, and sequin nipple covers have in common? As far as I'm concerned, absolutely nothing. Sorry Linsday, but maybe self-tanners really are your niche.
So what are your thoughts on Ungaro, Lindsay Lohan style? And if you weren't one of the lucky few invited to the show, review it at style.com and decide for yourself.

Getting caught up on the S/S 2010 shows, I know! However, just because I haven't been blogging about them all doesn't mean I haven't been reviewing them. Just wanted to mention how much I love the contradicting aspects of tailored silk jackets, skirts and pants with raw edges at Prada. And the red lips offset the tones of slate grey, silvers, and crystals quite perfectly.
